About

My name is Max Watson. I am a 50/something disabled bloke who has been “into” photography for around 45 years. The shift to digital was very slow, due to cost. I was terribly frustrated with a cheap point and shoot digital camera, but have recently been able to get a much better camera & am now producing better work.

I struggle to get out and about but happy to join photographic outings with patient people. I recently obtained an electric mobility scooter…

I’m old fashioned in that I still believe that the art should be in the camera… composition, exposure, etc. but I also accept that today the computer IS the darkroom… but I like to keep that to a minimum, working on the KISS principle.

Having only one hand (that works) I cannot use an SLR easily so I went for what is referred to as a Prosumer, which is a crossover between a point & shoot consumer camera and a professional camera the new Fuji S100fs.
